However a standard has to be set somewhere or else every religious institution may want holidays, or any idiot can cook up their own religion and demand a holiday. Then half the year will see schools closed and nothing will get done. I think a good solution should be that specifically in the case of these Muslim holy days classes will continue but Muslim parents can pull their kids out to do what they need to do without repercussion.
