I've always read that the preferred pairings are in this order: male & female, male & male, female & female. So though a female would likely be the better pairing, I don't blame you at all for wanting another male - it's all in the preference. There are people on here who have 5 males together, 2 females together, etc. It's all in finding the right dog with the right personality for your family. I do not wish to own a female dog again, so when I add to the family, it will be all about finding a male that meshes well with Cash (our resident male). But take your time, and if a male is what you prefer, make sure it's the RIGHT male for your Governor and for the rest of your family.
